About
Artist Statement:
“Art making is my meditation.
I don’t start a piece with a clear vision of how it is supposed to become. Instead, as I work through my feelings in response to political injustices, personal reflections, or aesthetic appreciations, the artwork evolves until I find peace and feels complete. This process can take a few minutes or multiple years...
My inspiration is to make art with colors and textures reminiscent of the beauty I’ve found in nature and in the places I have visited.” - Anna Syrkis
Biography:
